my work and ideas:
From 1983 to 1988 I worked with figurative
images of fragmented bodies, producing hard, sometimes cruel images.
From 1989 to 1992 I started a series of works with objects such as
shovels, pick-axes, wheelbarrows, like melancholic findings from a
lost hand-made working Era, in view of a possible future archaelogical
museum,. After that, I made works with images of the heart, such as
the Plantation of Hearts shown at the Garden of the Larreta Museum
in 1993. From 1993 to 1995/6 I carved in wood several Seeds and Roots,
works that showed a particular relation with nature. From 1994 to
2000 I worked most of the time with transparencies made of polyester
resin, mixing the material with roots, Xerox copies, branches, wood,
metal, cement. Huge concavities and tall cones appeared, with a special
interest in light and transparencies, and the subjects were mostly
my own memories, the memory of nature, the passing of time. At the
moment my creative work is focused again on the fragments of bodies,
maybe returning to the first point, but with enriched creative possibilities.
